We are looking for an outstanding leader to join our fast-growing team as Counsel of US Regulatory - West Region, in San Francisco. You will advise on and manage a variety of regulatory and regulatory compliance issues at one of the fastest growing startups in history. What You'll Do

    • Perform statutory and regulatory research to assess the landscape of existing state and local laws affecting Lime’s planned operations in new markets
    • Review proposed state and municipal ordinances, permits, operating agreements and other draft regulatory language as needed across dozens of state and local territories to determine fit with Lime’s business needs, supporting Lime’s regional government relations team in local policy negotiations
    • Draft new legislative and regulatory language for Lime’s proactive policy priorities at the municipal, state, and federal levels
    • Assist the Policy team with the ongoing development and refinement of Lime’s model policy language, maintaining it as needed to meet the evolving needs of the company and its products
    • Build and facilitate a scalable compliance program to comply with new and existing legislation, regulation, and operation agreements and memoranda of understanding

About You

    • JD/law degree and bar admission in at least one state
    • 5+ years relevant experience
    • Some subject matter knowledge of urban transportation and land use policy and regulatory principles preferred
    • Familiarity with existing municipal permitting approaches for commercial shared mobility operators a big plus
    • Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to clients
    • Strong analytical and strategic skills; ability to drive issues to a quick resolution that factors in many non-legal variables, such as brand-risk, communications, government relations, tax, insurance, finance and other business units
    • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
    • Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to build the processes and systems to prevent them from occurring
    • Proven high-performing legal experience in an in-house environment
    • Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to clients
