Senior Legal Counsel at Beekeeper
Zurich, CH

As our first Senior Legal Counsel you will be responsible for building the global Legal function at Beekeeper and be the single point of contact for all Legal matters with a particular emphasis on commercial topics. You will support our ambitious growth plans by setting up scalable processes and systems and by partnering with all functions to drive business value across Beekeeper. You will report to the CFO and will work closely with the leadership team, our Data Privacy Officer and external counsel.


Your Responsibilities

Further develop Beekeeper’s contract management system, including review processes, templates, approval matrix, and software  

Support all functional teams in legal matters, including:

Sales: support the negotiation of commercial contracts and Data Processing Agreements (DPA) and advise on deal structures and associated risks 

Engineering & Product: support new product development by assessing Data Protection and Privacy topics 

Finance: support the review and negotiation of supplier contracts 

People: support on labour law questions

Management: lead legal side of key corporate projects like fundraising and M&A

Company wide: Ad-hoc day-to-day requests

Working closely together with Data Privacy Officer (DPO) in all matters relating to Data Protection and Privacy 

Define the company compliance policies across Beekeeper

Review, monitor and advise on Intellectual Property (IP) protection

Manage external counsel and partners

What we look for in you

Commercial lawyer with 7+ years experience in an international corporate environment

Very good understanding of B2B software contracts and SAAS business model

Very good understanding of Data Protection and Privacy topics

Strong experience in partnering directly with Sales teams and setting up efficient contract management systems

Strong business acumen and great ability to leverage data and information in decision making

Good experience and knowledge with our main legal jurisdictions Switzerland, Europe and US

Can lead and orchestrate internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes 

Outstanding communication skills, explaining legal concepts for non-lawyers 

Fast, responsive, quick on your feet thinking 

Very good English & German (writing and verbal)

Independent, confident, hands-on, and pragmatic

Bonus Points

Experience in corporate law, labour law, IP, litigation 

Experience with Salesforce and/or SAP

Experience with reseller and other types of channel agreements

Experience in a startup/growth environment

Experience in Compliance and/or Risk

Experience in M&A and fundraising
