Business Analyst at Beekeeper

Change is afoot in the data team at Beekeeper! Until recently, the data team has focused primarily on delivering insights around the product and platform. Now we’re turning a corner to unleash the enormous potential of a company-wide business intelligence function.

 

The Business Analyst is central in our new trajectory of empowering data-driven decision making in all levels and domains of the business. This role will be crucial in providing insights towards steering large business decisions and will play a key part in shaping the future of Data and BI at Beekeeper.

 

 

Your Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding for our company’s goals and, with this, generate data insights to fuel important business decisions

Lead the design, analysis and interpretation of data models to answer complex business questions and establish meaningful business metrics

Work with stakeholders across functions to understand, define and prioritise upcoming data projects and align them with company goals

Help domain experts leverage self-service analytics

Coach teams to define, improve and observe their KPIs 

Promote the data-driven culture at Beekeeper

Play a role in further developing our strategy and vision for Data at Beekeeper

 

In a concrete, day-to-day sense, these responsibilities may look like:

 

Servicing an ad-hoc request, using Looker, to visualise which of the industries we serve has experienced the largest increase in weekly active users on the Beekeeper platform since the start of the Corona pandemic

Organising several analyses into a cohesive BI dashboard, communicating the value and imparting ownership to stakeholders

Designing a predictive model, using SQL and dbt, to organise data from Hubspot and Salesforce in order to estimate the lifetime value of a new marketing-qualified lead

Prototyping a data pipeline, in Python, to validate initial data from a new API in our Redshift Data Warehouse

You are:

ready to play a pivotal role in setting the course for new data tools and innovations, architecting the right solutions for evolving needs and continuously prioritising for greater impact

primarily an Analyst, sure, but with the business acumen and ease of communication of a Product Manager

outgoing and curious, with a desire to understand business processes and work with colleagues to support their objectives

You have:

 

2+ years experience using an enterprise-level BI Tool -- Tableau, Looker, etc; which tool is less important, but you should consider yourself a high-level expert in at least one

2+ years experience with SQL -- you should be a pro with advanced SQL such as window functions

2+ years experience with a scripting language, such as Python -- you should be able to code data transformations in the context of a data pipeline 

3+ years experience managing stakeholders -- You should be comfortable communicating nuanced data anomalies into business value

 

Bonus Points

Working experience in a technology or SaaS company

Previous experience with Product, Marketing or Sales data in a B2B SaaS environment

Previous experience in an agile, high-growth environment
