About the Job

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to support Aiven’s Financial Reporting. You will have an essential role in Aiven’s external accounting team as you will be the company’s first inhouse accountant. We are taking bookkeeping in-house from our current service provider during this calendar year and you would play a key role in the transfer. Together with another in-house accountant (to be hired as well) you will be responsible for the accounts of the parent company Aiven Oy and its six subsidiaries in USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy and UK. You would work closely with the foreign accounting partners with payroll, taxation and filing issues. As Aiven is a fast growing company, you would have a key role in developing and automating the company’s accounting processes. If you wish there is a chance to become manager for another in-house accountant. The position is full-time and permanent and will be located at Aiven’s headquarters in Helsinki or in Berlin. You will report to Director Accounting Operations Elina Finnilä.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility of daily accounting and monthly tax filings of group companies
  • Communication with local accounting and payroll service providers
  • Active participation in group accounting & consolidation
  • Assisting with statutory audit of the parent company
  • Helping in the preparation of FAS and IFRS financial statements
  • Helping us develop group’s accounting processes
  • Other ad hoc accounting related tasks

Requirements

  • Suitable degree in accounting
  • Proven working experience of minimum 5 years in similar positions
  • Strong understanding of Finnish GAAP, Finnish tax laws and overall accounting processes
  • Eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving and creative attitude and ability to work in fast developing environment
  • Proficiency in English and in Finnish, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of NetSuite
  • Strong working ethic and ability to remain calm under pressure
