About the Job

We are looking for a motivated Accountant to support Aiven’s Financial Reporting. You will have an essential role in Aiven’s external accounting team as you will be part of the initial inhouse accounting team. Bookkeeping will be taken in house from Aiven’s current service provider during this calendar year and you would actively participate in the transfer. Together with a Senior Accountant (to be hired as well) you will be responsible for the accounting of the parent company Aiven Oy and its six subsidiaries in USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy and UK. As Aiven is a fast growing company, you would assist to develop and automate the company's accounting processes. The position is full-time and permanent and will be located at Aiven’s headquarters in Helsinki or in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily accounting and monthly tax filings of group companies
  • Communication with local accounting and payroll service providers
  • Assisting with statutory audit of the parent company
  • Helping in the preparation of FAS and IFRS financial statements
  • Other ad hoc accounting related task

Requirements

  • Suitable degree in accounting
  • Proven working experience of minimum 2 years in similar positions
  • Understanding of Finnish GAAP, Finnish tax laws and overall accounting processes
  • Eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving attitude and ability to work in fast developing environment
  • Proficiency in English both spoken and written. Finnish language skills are plus.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite
