People Operations Advisor/HR Generalist at Omio

The Role
Our People Operations Advisor is often the first point of contact in the People Team for Omio employees. When they reach out with a sensitive query, they’ll reach out to you. Fundamentally, this role is a great way to gain in-depth knowledge about general People processes, focussing on payroll preparation and general administration inclusive systems while also developing the skills and competencies needed to progress in your People Operations career. 
The day to day work includes the execution of people processes as well as lots of improvements to people projects such as onboarding, and the planned implementation of a new HR Management System. 
The Main Responsibilities
Employee satisfaction and engagement are key to our success. This should be close to your heart and you actively help to shape this. 
Provide advice and support to our employees on all people operations related topics pertaining to the employee life cycle (e.g. parental leave, payroll administration, aspects of employee relations, visa & relocation)
Support the full spectrum of operational people topics to help create a great employee experience and make Omio a destination employer. In particular, you will focus on:
Preparation of payroll (vorbereitende Lohnbuchhaltung) ensuring the correct and timely processing of payroll in collaboration with our external payroll office
Onboarding of new employees including visa and relocation support
Drafting of contracts, certificates, and reference letters
Acting as the liaison between Omio and authorities, social security funds and health insurances
Maintaining and updating our HRIS / HR Management System as well as employee paper files
Pulling system reports as well as creating statistics on people data

What You Bring to the Team
You have up to three years of experience in an entry-level operational role in Human Resources, preferably within a startup or medium-sized business
Degree or "Ausbildung" in a related field
You have a good understanding of employment bureaucracy, including topics such as parental leave, payroll administration and preparation,  employment and German labour law
You are an enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys owning projects, delivering on commitments  and contributing to process optimisation
You are friendly and customer-oriented in your approach and bring an extraordinary service attitude and a team-working mindset to the role
Integrity, trustworthiness and transparency are in your DNA. 
You are proficient in German and fluent in English 
The Interview Process
You will have an introductory call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team to get to know each other. Following that, you will meet selected colleagues from our People Operations, Talent Acquisition and Business Partnering Teams,  as well as our Chief People Officer, Dr Barbara  Zesik. These conversations will give us an opportunity to not only talk about your experience, ambitions and values but also serve to determine - for both sides - whether we are a ‘good match’.
