About You
SmartNews is looking for a capable Technical Sourcer who can identify and attract talented tech professionals for our growing US Engineering & Product teams. Our ideal candidate has successfully supported a high-functioning recruiting team and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-stage startup environment. We have extremely high recruiting standards with a focus on candidate experience at all stages of the recruiting cycle.


  • Work closely with Recruiters and Hiring Managers to deeply understand requirements of the roles, the function and how they fit into the organization
  • Find, engage, and activate passive candidates through the use of Boolean, LinkedIn and alternative search techniques
  • Strategize different ways to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, events and sourcing campaigns
  • Engage with qualified technical candidates and work with the recruiting team to lead them through the hiring process
  • Track and report state of pipeline, recruiting funnel metrics and performance data to share with internal stakeholders
  • Represent the company with integrity and professionalism


  • Relevant experience, in-house or with a recruiting agency, and proven track record of successfully sourcing exceptional and diverse technical professionals in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Creative sourcing skills leveraging multiple channels (web, social/professional networks, etc)
  • Effective organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) - we use Workable
