Meet the team behind this journey

DeepL is the world’s most accurate AI-powered language platform, trusted by leading businesses and individuals across the globe. As we scale, the Sales Development function is at the heart of our outbound growth engine. As SDR Manager, EMEA Outbound, you will lead and develop a team of seven outbound Sales Development Representatives across the EMEA region. You will own the strategy, performance, and culture of your team — driving consistent, high-quality pipeline contribution and coaching each rep towards their full potential, including their progression into quota-carrying sales roles.

This role sits within DeepL’s Global SDR organisation and reports directly to the VP of Global Sales Development.

Your responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of seven outbound SDRs across the EMEA
region, driving performance against individual and team pipeline targets.
• Spend a significant portion of your time coaching — on calls, in role-plays, in deal
reviews, and in structured 1:1s.
• Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and genuine career
progression, with a focus on developing reps for future sales roles.
• Act as a role model for outbound excellence, embodying the standards and habits
you expect from your team.

Strategy & Execution
• Define and execute the outbound strategy for your EMEA team, aligned to DeepL’s
broader sales and marketing objectives.
• Work closely with Marketing and Field Marketing to align on campaigns, territory
priorities, and target account lists.
• Ensure your team’s outbound activity is purposeful, personalised, and tied to clear
pipeline outcomes — not just volume metrics.
• Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene, ensuring opportunities are qualified to the
required standard before advancing to sales.

Performance Management & Operations
• Monitor, analyse, and act on team performance data, using insights to guide
coaching conversations and tactical adjustments.
• Manage the operational rhythm of the team — including weekly reviews, pipelining
sessions, and activity standards.
• Leverage Salesforce, Salesloft, and other sales tools to maintain accurate reporting
and efficient workflows.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase the team’s productivity
and output quality.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with EMEA Sales leadership to align territory strategy, account prioritisation,
and AE handoff quality.
• Collaborate with Enablement, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to ensure your
team has the tools, content, and data they need.
• Feed market intelligence back into the business — competitive signals, objection
patterns, and buyer insights from the front line.

Qualities we look for

Essential
• Substantial experience in an SDR or Sales Development Management role, with a
strong track record of leading outbound teams to consistent pipeline targets.
• A genuine passion for coaching and developing people — you are energised by
seeing your team grow, not just by hitting numbers yourself.
• Deep understanding of outbound sales development: sequencing, personalisation,
prospecting strategy, and qualification frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, to native-level English
standard — you will engage with senior internal stakeholders and represent the SDR
function credibly at all levels.
• Proven ability to use data and performance metrics to drive coaching decisions and
improve team output.
• Experience working in an international, fast-paced SaaS or technology business.
• Proficiency with Salesforce and Salesloft (or equivalent sales engagement
platforms).
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — you are comfortable working closely
with Sales, Marketing, and Operations stakeholders.

Even better if you also have
• Experience as a quota-carrying AE — this is a genuine differentiator in a team where
progression to sales is a core part of the value proposition we offer our people.
• French language skills at a professional or business level.
• Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Cognism, or similar data enrichment and
prospecting tools.
• A background in managing or hiring across multiple EMEA territories.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Docs) for reporting and
communication.

What you can expect from us
• A leadership role with genuine scope — you will own the performance, culture, and
development of your team.
• A clear and structured framework for SDR excellence, including an established
qualification methodology, compensation model, and career progression pathway.
• A team that is already performing and a function that is invested in by senior
leadership.
• A collaborative, development-first culture where people are promoted from within and
performance is rewarded.

• Regular 1:1 coaching from your VP, access to external enablement programmes, and
full support to grow as a leader.
