Who we are
DeepL's GtM Legal team sits at the heart of the Go-to-Market organisation, supporting Sales, Partnerships, and cross-functional teams across EMEA, AMER, and APAC. Our remit spans the full commercial contracting lifecycle, complex enterprise deals, partner arrangements, DPAs, and the playbooks and templates that sit behind them.
We are a tight-knit team that takes ownership, moves with pace, and operates with a level of autonomy you rarely find in an in-house legal role.
Your responsibilities
Review and negotiate a variety of complex agreements with B2B customers, including SaaS, MSA, DPAs and NDAs..
Review and negotiate partner and channel agreements, including reseller, distribution, referral, and integration partner agreements.
Support the development, maintenance, and review of consumer-facing T&Cs and provide advice on consumer legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Provide the Go-to-Market (GtM) team with pragmatic, commercially-focused advice across a wide variety of legal matters.
Work cross-functionally with Privacy, Product Legal, and Legal Ops teams to ensure consistent and well-coordinated legal support.
Support the improvement of internal processes and contract lifecycle management within the GtM organisation.
Maintain and contribute to the development of contract templates and playbooks for the GtM Legal team.
Support the delivery training sessions, self-help materials and guidelines for both the GtM and GtM Legal team.
Qualities we look for
Qualified lawyer at least two years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained in-house at a technology or SaaS company.
Solid grounding in B2B commercial contracting, with hands-on experience negotiating SaaS and partner/channel agreements in English.
Some exposure to consumer law or consumer-facing legal work across multiple jurisdictions; appetite to develop further in this area is welcome.
Familiarity with data protection law and DPA negotiation in a commercial context.
Experience across multiple regions (EMEA, AMER or APAC) is an advantage.
Comfortable working directly with Sales and Partnerships teams - confident, pragmatic, and able to give clear advice.
Comfortable with pace and ambiguity - or genuinely excited to work in that environment for the first time.
Comfortable with legal technology and contract management tooling; interest in AI-enabled legal workflows is a plus.
Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are an advantage.
