The Opportunity

Join the team transforming how musculoskeletal (MSK) care is delivered by building the operational engine that powers our Legal and Compliance functions. We are seeking a motivated Legal Operations Manager to drive efficiency and scalability during a critical phase of Hinge Health’s growth. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to manage strategic projects, optimize legal technologies, and create the processes that allow our best-in-class Legal team to deliver high-impact services to the entire organization.

What You'll Accomplish

  • In your first 3 months: You will audit our current legal workflows and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Product, Commercial, and Employment teams. You will take ownership of immediate operational needs, creating processes and templates to organize legal advice and document business processes.

  • In your first 6 months: You will drive efficiency by building and improving legal self-service resources and knowledge management tools. You will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and launch dashboards that provide leadership with real-time insights into legal spend and operational trends.

  • In your first year: You will lead the strategic selection and implementation of next-generation legal technology solutions (including AI and e-billing systems). You will oversee the full lifecycle of outside counsel management and collaborate with Finance to develop and manage the legal department's annual budget and forecasting processes.

Who You Are

  • A Strategic Operator: You can oscillate between high-level strategy and detailed execution, whether you’re managing a complex budget or troubleshooting a workflow bottleneck.

  • A Process Architect: You excel at breaking down complex workflows into efficient, scalable processes and identifying pain points before they become problems.

  • A "Learn-it-all": You have a desire to master new concepts quickly, from IP programs to the latest legal AI tools, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift.

  • A Trust Builder: You communicate effectively across functions, aligning stakeholders and driving projects to completion with sound judgment and minimal supervision.

Basic Requirements

  • Education & Experience: B.A. or B.S. degree with 2-3+ years of experience in legal operations or project management (in-house or law firm preferred).

  • Project Management: Proven ability to develop project plans, manage timelines, and align key stakeholders to drive projects to completion.

  • Operational Excellence: Experience breaking down processes, identifying pain points, and prioritizing multiple high-importance activities simultaneously.

  • Execution: Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to exercise sound judgment under time pressure.

Preferred Requirements

  • Industry Context: Experience working within a healthcare technology company.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with legal technology such as e-billing software (e.g., Brightflag, SimpleLegal), CLM (e.g., Ironclad, Salesforce), workflow automation (e.g., Tonkean), or Legal AI tools.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of legal department metrics, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Specialized Knowledge: Previous experience managing IP/patent programs.

  • Certifications: Legal operations certification (e.g., CLOC, ACC Legal Ops) or Project Management Certification.
