About the Role

Hinge Health is building a new gastrointestinal care program that helps people better understand their symptoms, identify the right next steps, and access appropriate support and care.

As Staff Product Designer for the GI Program, you will help define what Hinge Health’s approach to GI care could become. You will lead design through an ambiguous, clinically complex, and highly strategic 0-to-1 space, using research, prototyping, and iteration to shape the program’s vision and member experience.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Data, Operations, to explore and test how digital guidance, symptom and meal tracking, personalized care plans, behavioral support, specialist and dietitian access, and escalation to in-person care might work together.

This is an opportunity to help establish the product vision and design foundations for a new care category, make possibilities tangible through prototypes and storytelling, and iteratively define how Hinge Health can deliver integrated GI care experiences.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Shape the vision for GI care: Define a compelling long-term design vision GI within the Hinge Health platform, grounded in member needs, clinical principles, and business outcomes.

  • Lead the end-to-end member experience: Design coherent journeys across enrollment, symptom understanding, triage, daily engagement, care planning, progress tracking, and escalation to digital, clinical, or in-person care.

  • Make complex care feel simple: Translate nuanced GI symptoms, treatment pathways, testing, and clinical guidance into clear, accessible, and actionable product experiences for members.

  • Design personalized, behavior-changing experiences: Explore how care plans, tracking, education, gut-brain support, movement, and conversational guidance can help members take meaningful action and build sustainable habits.

  • Raise the design bar: Mentor other designers, share methods and learnings, and help create a high-quality, inclusive, and accessible product experience.

  • Stay close to members and outcomes: Partner with research, clinical, and data teammates to form hypotheses, test concepts, learn from member behavior, and connect design decisions to health and business outcomes.

  • Healthcare complexity: Experience simplifying complex, sensitive, regulated, or data-rich domains into understandable and trustworthy user experiences.

  • Data-informed design: Fluency in combining qualitative research, behavioral data, experimentation, and clinical or operational insight to guide decisions.

  • Influence and communication: Highly effective written, verbal, and visual communicator who can align senior stakeholders around a design direction.

  • Cross-functional leadership: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Product, Engineering, Data, Clinical, Operations, and research partners across shared goals and timelines.

  • AI curiosity: Thoughtful curiosity about emerging AI tools and conversational experiences, with good judgment about how to use them safely and meaningfully in healthcare.
