Mission
Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.
In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.
Role Purpose
Germany represents Neko’s next international market, with launch planned for 2027. As Medical Director in Germany, you will be the most senior clinical leader for this expansion – building Neko’s clinical presence from the ground up in one of Europe’s most important and complex healthcare markets.
You are responsible for navigating the regulatory pathway, building strong clinical teams, and ensuring that everything Neko delivers in Germany meets the same standard of quality and member experience that defines us globally. You will report to the Medical Director, Europe and work closely with the international medical leadership team.
Germany has one of the strongest preventive health cultures in Europe. You will be representing a model of preventive care that is evidence-based, and genuinely different from what the system currently offers.
What You’ll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months
Regulatory Leadership
Own the clinical pathway for Neko’s German launch, navigating EU MDR compliance, GmbH setup, BfArM registration, and state health authority licensing.
Hold the Approbation and fulfil the statutory role of Ärztlicher Leiter across Neko’s German clinic operations.
Build and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory bodies.
Advise on adaptation of Neko’s clinical documentation, consent frameworks, and protocols for the German regulatory and cultural context.
Clinical Governance and Quality
Establish the clinical governance framework for Germany: policies, protocols, escalation pathways, incident review, and risk management, aligned to Neko’s global standards and German legal requirements.
Own the clinical risk register for Germany and ensure emerging risks are identified, escalated, and mitigated proactively.
Contribute to the global medical quality framework, bringing German market insight into shared standards and continuous improvement.
Clinical Leadership and Team Performance
Build and lead the German clinical teams with a strong culture of quality and member experience focus.
Work closely with the clinical leadership team to design and deliver the training and onboarding program for German’s clinical staff.
Embed performance management, coaching, and clinical supervision as a core part of how the Germany team operates, partnering closely with the People team to support individual growth and career development.
Partner closely with operational and clinical teams to ensure the two sides of the business move in the same direction without friction.
Medical Community Engagement
Represent Neko in German medical communities, building clinical credibility and brand recognition.
Develop relationships with corporate wellness partners, private health insurers, and referral networks.
Engage with the medical establishment on preventive health and the clinical value of early detection.
Minimum Qualifications
Medical degree with full German medical registration.
Minimum 8 years of clinical experience, including experience in a senior clinical leadership role with direct management of clinical teams.
Demonstrable track record of building clinical teams in new or complex environments.
Strong knowledge of German healthcare regulations.
A genuine belief in preventive medicine and the value of early detection.
Fluency in German and English.
Preferred
Experience in tech-enabled, multi-site, or consumer-facing healthcare environments.
Familiarity with EU MDR, CE marking processes, and digital health regulation (DiGA).
Knowledge of the private health insurance (PKV) in Germany.
Track record of external profile-building, clinical advocacy, or engagement with the medical establishment on evidence and innovation.
Experience in fast-growth or startup settings, with the ability to build from ambiguity.
